Route and journey time
From Oxford, your driver takes the A40 to the M40 at junction 8, heads south-east to the M25 at junction 16, then a short hop south to junction 15 for Terminals 2 and 3 or junction 14 for Terminals 4 and 5. Most journeys take 50 minutes to an hour. At peak times, the M40 around High Wycombe and the M25 near Heathrow can slow things down, so allow up to 75 minutes.
Oxford to Heathrow: taxi or coach?
Oxford has a well-known coach service to Heathrow, and it’s a solid choice for a solo traveller on a budget who lives near one of its stops. The train is less convenient, involving a change at Reading or in London. A taxi comes into its own when:
- you’re a family or group – one fixed fare often costs less than several coach tickets
- you’re carrying a lot of luggage, or travelling with young children
- you live away from the coach stops, in north Oxford, Headington or a village
- you need to leave very early, or you’re arriving late at night
- you want to go straight from the terminal to your door without waiting
Heathrow terminals
We cover all four: Terminal 2, Terminal 3, Terminal 4 and Terminal 5. From Oxford, Terminal 5 is usually the quickest to reach, just off junction 14 of the M25.

For a Heathrow to Oxford taxi, your driver waits in your terminal’s arrivals hall with a name board. We track your flight, so early or delayed landings are covered, and you get 60 minutes of free waiting from touchdown. Book your return at the same time and save 5%.
Students, colleges and visiting academics
We carry a lot of university passengers between Oxford and Heathrow – new international students at the start of Michaelmas term, visiting fellows, conference speakers and staff flying out for research. We collect from and deliver to colleges, departments, guest houses and hotels across the city. Departments and companies can open an account with monthly invoicing.
Areas we cover
All of Oxford – the city centre, Jericho, Summertown, Headington, Cowley, Iffley, Botley and Marston – and across Oxfordshire, including Kidlington, Abingdon, Witney, Bicester, Didcot, Wallingford, Thame, Woodstock and Henley-on-Thames.
Choosing a vehicle
A saloon suits up to four passengers with two large suitcases. Choose an estate or MPV for family holidays or students with a lot of luggage, and an executive Mercedes for business trips. See the fleet.

Tips for Oxford travellers
The M40 is usually straightforward, but the stretch around junctions 4 and 3 near High Wycombe and the approach to the M25 can slow down on weekday mornings. For arrivals, remember that long-haul passengers can take a while to clear immigration at Heathrow – your 60 free minutes start from landing. For conference organisers bringing speakers in from Heathrow, we can arrange several pickups across different terminals and times, with one point of contact.
