Landed at Heathrow with a connection at Gatwick? A Heathrow to Gatwick taxi is the quickest and least stressful way to make it. There’s no rail link between the two airports, and public transport means a coach or a trip into central London and out again. We’ll meet you in arrivals at your Heathrow terminal, load your luggage and drive you straight to Gatwick North or South – around an hour on the M25, at a price fixed before you land.

How long does it take?

Heathrow and Gatwick are around 45 miles apart. Your driver takes the M25 anticlockwise from Heathrow to junction 7, then the M23 south to Gatwick. On a clear run that’s 55 minutes to an hour; in weekday rush hour or on a Friday afternoon, allow up to 80 minutes, and a little more on bank holiday weekends when the M25 around junctions 10 to 12 gets busy.

If you’re connecting between flights, we’d suggest leaving at least three and a half to four hours between your scheduled landing at Heathrow and your departure from Gatwick. That covers immigration, baggage reclaim, the drive and check-in at the other end.

How it works for connecting passengers

1. Book with both flight numbers – your arriving flight into Heathrow and your onward flight from Gatwick.
2. We track your Heathrow arrival – if you land early or late, your driver adjusts automatically.
3. Meet and greet – your driver waits in the arrivals hall of your Heathrow terminal with a name board. You’ll get their details by text.
4. Straight to Gatwick – we drop you at the departures forecourt of North or South Terminal, whichever your airline uses.

You get 60 minutes of free waiting from landing, and if something goes wrong – a lost bag, a long queue at the border – just message your driver.

Heathrow to Gatwick: taxi, coach or train?

The coach is the budget option for a solo traveller with plenty of time. For couples, families and anyone with a tight connection, the taxi wins – it leaves the moment you’re through arrivals and doesn’t stop until Gatwick.

Gatwick to Heathrow taxi

The reverse journey is just as popular. For a Gatwick to Heathrow taxi, your driver meets you in the arrivals hall at North or South Terminal and takes you to Terminal 2, 3, 4 or 5 at Heathrow. The price is the same in either direction, plus the £7 parking charge for the Gatwick pickup. Which terminal at each airport?

At Heathrow, we collect from and drop off at Terminal 2, Terminal 3, Terminal 4 and Terminal 5. At Gatwick, we use both North and South Terminals. Because Terminal 4 sits on the southern side of Heathrow, it’s usually a few minutes quicker to Gatwick than the central terminals.

Choosing a vehicle

For one or two passengers with standard luggage, a saloon is fine. Long-haul travellers usually have more, so an estate is often worth the small extra cost. Overnight between flights?

If your Gatwick flight isn’t until the next day, we can take you from Heathrow to a hotel near Gatwick in the evening and on to the terminal the following morning. Just book both journeys, or call us and we’ll arrange it.

Missed connection or schedule change?

Airline schedules change, and connections between Heathrow and Gatwick are sometimes rebooked at short notice. If your onward flight moves, just let us know – we can change your pickup time or collect you later from Heathrow. If your inbound flight is so delayed that the connection no longer works, call us and we’ll help you work out the best option, whether that’s a later transfer or a hotel run for the night.

Travelling with a family between airports

Changing airports with children is hard work on public transport – two lots of escalators, a busy London terminus and luggage for everyone.
