Terminal 4 stands on its own on the southern side of Heathrow, away from the central terminals. That’s good news if you’re coming from south London, Surrey or Kent: it’s reached directly from the A30 and M25 rather than through the central tunnel. Dropping off at Terminal 4

Your driver comes off the Southern Perimeter Road and pulls up at the Terminal 4 departures forecourt, right outside the entrance. Terminal 4 is a single-level building, so check-in, security and departures are close together – handy with children or heavy bags. The drop-off charge is already included in your fare.

Most Terminal 4 flights are long-haul, so aim to arrive three hours before departure. We’ll suggest a pickup time with traffic in mind.

Pickups from Terminal 4

We track your flight from take-off, so your driver arrives for your real landing time. They’ll wait in the Terminal 4 arrivals hall with a name board, and you’ll get a text with their name and mobile number. From arrivals, it’s a short walk to the car in the Terminal 4 short-stay car park.

You get 60 minutes of free waiting from landing. Middle East connections often land in clusters, so passport control can be busy – the free waiting time covers it.

If you’re connecting from Terminal 4 to a flight at Terminal 2, 3 or 5, Heathrow’s free transfer services link the terminals airside and landside. If you need to collect bags and head elsewhere – a hotel, a meeting, or another airport – we run direct transfers from T4 to Gatwick, London City and central London.

Hotels at Terminal 4

Terminal 4 has its own hotel linked by a covered walkway – handy for an early departure or a late arrival. If you’re staying there, or at one of the hotels on the Bath Road, we can take you to the hotel the evening before and you’ll simply walk to check-in in the morning. After a late arrival, we can collect you from the hotel the next day instead.

Taxi vs parking at Terminal 4

Terminal 4 has its own short-stay car park and nearby long-stay options. For trips of a week or more, the cost of parking plus fuel often matches or exceeds a return taxi transfer – and a taxi means nobody has to drive home after a long flight. Get a quote for your address and compare.

Travelling from south London and Surrey

Because Terminal 4 is on the southern side of Heathrow, it’s usually quicker to reach from Wimbledon, Sutton, Epsom, Kingston and the Surrey towns than the central terminals are. Your driver will use the A30 or the M25 at junction 13 or 14 depending on traffic, avoiding the congested central tunnel altogether.
